I'm not too sure, actually. It got put into maint mode, and it seemed like.. it was officially done. The boards are all still here; they just got hidden. What do you guys want to do though?
Anyway, I'm sorry. I waited too long to try to recruit more people/advertise the site, and that probably contributed to it slowly dying again. Lesson to be learned! Like the First Hundred Days of the Presidency are crucial, the first two weeks of a RP site are also crucial to its revival!

I would like to see this site continue for a little while longer. Advertising a site is difficult, I agree. Keeping a site alive is also difficult as well. I wouldn't mind advertising the site myself because I now go to a school that has like 2,000 students there and I know a few who would want to join. I also wouldn't mind helping with the up-keep of the site as a Mod or something.

Hm.. I think if we restart it, I'll hand over full reins. <.< Proved that I can't admin anymore. Do we want to stick with Sanctuary of Dreams or go back to the school idea or..?

I think the school idea was cool. when I first joined it was pretty much the golden age of Kironin. The Sanctuary idea idea was pretty cool. I liked how it opened up the variety of characters one can have. I think the possibility of merging the two ideas is plausible, like make KC a university or something, I think that would be awesome. But then it would give the impression that the characters should be a certain age. where-as Sanctuary was open to most age groups for the characters. I wouldn't mind being admin as well, I know some friends that would love to help with ressing KC and who would each be able to take care of it if any of us cant do it for a period of time.

The problem with a school though is we'd need to have teachers.. and hold classes. >.< Most of the RPs are outside of classes, so that's a big part of the reason why we dropped it. Sanctuary might give too little structure however, so that's something we'd need more peoples' input on. If you want, feel free to throw them at the site now. o.o? It might be easier to figure out what we're going to do with the site.

I think that Sanctuary was a very good idea, we just need to add more structure to it. How that would go about I have no idea. And indeed we would need more members to have teachers and hold classes. I have an idea kinda relating to Pomish (if you remember that site). Instead of having Kironin as a school, it could be used as living quarters for the characters just like a school setting, but there has to be some particular job the characters have to accomplish if they want to stay there... Im just tossin' this idea around here.

That's actually kind of what the base idea of the Sanctuary was. You had the option of living at the school (which ended up becoming a sort of boarding house), and the goal of staying there was so you could work on accomplishing your dreams. I'm not really quite sure how to add more structure to that. <.< We would probably need to have someone who can lead an overall plot so all the characters are linked in one way or another.

Heres an idea I had for a Pomish story. Kyoshi is the last remaining of the Pomishians (I didnt come up with that name, honest to god) and the headmistresses knowing that he was somewhat immortal gave him the task of watching over the area to make sure that the demons wouldn't take advantage of the dimensional crossroad while no one was there. Kyoshi accepts because he has nothing better to so he calls upon his twin brother to come and help him out (Yuki, he's from another RP that died so I merged him with the Pomish RP). Only a year in Pomish time passes and it is discovered by a human mage, blah blah blah... new school founded, blah blah blah. Point is Kyoshi and Yuki just kind of stay in the shadows just surveying the students and faculty to make sure they didn't stubble upon something that Kyoshi didn't want them to see or that they didn't do anything otherwise "stupid". I think we can use Ali in the same way, we could keep him as a character to steer events, but we would need a supporting role for that as well. Kind of like a trustworthy friend who is about the same status of the other characters convincing them to go along with said plot.

We.. could try that.. if he's in a supporting role and won't be used too much. He'll be the guy who's never noticed! \o Kinda just nudges events in certain ways?

Pretty much. Now the issue is if Kironin is going to continue the Sanctuary vibe or try something different.

I'd like to give the Sanctuary idea a shot, since it's not something that's as common as say.. magic schools. It's loose enough to give freedom to people, but also tight enough that it could be used to help guide people toward a certain direction occasionally. It would take a lot of outside work to keep track of all the plots though, which is what the spider webs and all the extra stuff were for though. xD I think things would have to be more dynamic for it to work out well, meaning people would actually be recommended to use the outside tools so it's easier to keep track of everything. They wouldn't need to use say.. the diaries, but maybe the journals? << or is that just too much clutter to keep track of overall?

I think the spider web we should keep. The diaries were kind of a waist of space Ill have to admit. I tried using them and found myself questioning why they were there. We should also consider having a few people come up with random events, posting the bi-weekly updates (or just weekly), ect. I also think it would be a neat idea if we had a spider-web for the RP-wide plot, that way members can give their input on what should go on in the overall plot. ... I just caught myself remembering my first year on Kironin, god that was centuries ago XD I think I was like in 7th grade? And now Im a senior and a Marine recruit to boot @_@

Yeaaaah the diaries were a bit.. o.e some people wanted them though, so I made a subboard for it. Journals though~ they were useful. We actually did do that for the events. Had a whole board devoted to it in the mod board. xD Just.. need to figure out a better way to implement them because we'd have threads that go on and on past the event. ^^' That was the main issue, I think, not the lack of events. I do like the spiderweb though~. We should definitely do that.
Yeah. xD This site used to dominate my life. I joined it my freshman year in high school and I'm going to graduate from college this fall. D< Spiffy though, you being a senior and a marine recruit. Best of luck there, eh?
